Terms and Conditions

 

Charity Slam | 8th November 2018 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING AND FURTHER INFORMATION

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations must be made in writing to info@volume48.co.uk . It is the booker’s responsibility to ensure that we have received the cancellation.

Charity Slam is organised by Volume forty-eight Ltd. (www.volume48.co.uk)

Please see below for a breakdown of our cancellation fees:

• If you have registered at the early bird rate, cancellations received on or before 1st September 2018 are subject to a handling and administration fee of £50 per delegate which will be deducted from any due refund or invoice, whichever is appropriate.

• Cancellations received after 1st September 2018 are subject to the full fee that is payable for the conference. However, in both cases, a substitute delegate can always be nominated. Substitutions on the day of the conference are made at the organiser’s discretion only.

Pre-payments will not be refunded and invoiced sums will be payable in full, except in cases where it has been possible to mitigate loss. Volume 48 Ltd. will not offer refunds to delegates due to a terrorist alert or incident or the curtailment of public transport, unless the conference is cancelled. In this instance, Volume 48 will retain up to 50% of the event fee to cover marketing, administration and delegate registration costs

PAYMENT

If you have requested to pay via invoice, the payments terms are 28 days from the date on the invoice. An invoice will be attached to your automated confirmation email. If your company uses Purchase Order Numbers, please supply this at the time of booking as failure to do so may cause problems with your booking. If you chose to pay by credit card you will receive an email confirmation from PayPal ltd. Please note that we must receive full payment prior to the event start date. If you are booking within one week of the event we will require payment by credit card.

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

Once we have received confirmation of your booking via our online booking system, we will send you a confirmation email. The dispatch by us of an email confirmation constitutes a legally binding contract. If you have not received your confirmation email immediately after submission of your booking, please contact the Customer Services team on +44 (0)208 953 4749 as there may be a problem with your booking. Volume48 ltd. are unable to accept responsibility for the non-arrival of information. Volume48 ltd reserves the right to decline any booking. Volume48 reserves the right to vary the content, timings, location and/or speakers of events and as such accept no liability for variations.

DIETARY AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Lunch is provided as standard. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact the Conferences team on +44 (0)208 953 4749 or info@volume48.co.uk We make every effort to ensure our events are accessible for all delegates. For any specific access requirements, please contact the Conferences team (as above). ON THE DAY Please note that we may take photographs, video and audio footage of the event, which may include speakers and the delegation, and this may later be used in editorial features and/or in marketing and promotional material. Whilst in attendance at any volume48 ltd event, if your behaviour is deemed disruptive, offensive, dangerous, illegal, or if you are found to be distributing unauthorised material we reserve the right to eject you without any prior notice or refund.

Audio and visual recordings or the distribution of commercial materials are not permitted without our prior consent.

We can accept no liability for damage to or loss of personal belongings at the event venue.

 

SPEAKER CONFIRMATION & CHANGES

As the date of the conference approaches, sometimes speakers are prevented from attending for personal or business reasons. We endeavour to find suitable replacement speakers of the same calibre. Often, however, a direct replacement cannot be found or found with enough time for the replacement to prepare a quality presentation. Privacy

This privacy policy sets out how Volume48 and all of their brands (Charity Slam & Disrupting Purpose) uses and protects any information that you give Volume48 and when you use their websites or contact them by other means.

Volume48 is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Volume48 may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This current policy is effective from 24/05/2018.

The lawful bases under which we collect and use your data

We require your clear and unambiguous consent to process your data if you sign up to our mailing lists. From time to time we may ask you to restate your consent.
If you are working with Volume48 as a volunteer, supplier or other business contact, then we require your data in order to fulfil our legitimate interests (contacting you regarding meetings, research projects, events and other activities in fulfilment of work).

If you are working with Volume48 under a formal contract or agreement, then we require your data on a contract basis.

  • other information relevant to surveys, projects and/or opportunities

 

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better events and content, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal communications to fulfil the purpose of Volume48, Charity Slam or Disrupting Purpose

  • Internal record keeping.

  • We may use the information to improve our website and offerings.

  • We may periodically send emails about new events, projects, ideas or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.

  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone or mail. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests

In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We regularly review the systems we use and the data we hold to ensure we are keeping it for an appropriate length of time and that it is still relevant.

Our website contains links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Controlling your personal information

If you have previously provided us with your personal information so that we can send you updates or event information, you may change your mind at any time by writing to or emailing us at info@volume48.co.uk, or by unsubscribing within our emails.

If you have previously provided us with your personal information as a business contact, attendee or volunteer, then we will hold and process that data in accordance with pursuing our legitimate interests in the service of our events. If you no longer wish to be associated with Volume48 or the brands in this way, please let us know at info@volume48.co.uk

 

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties as part of our mail outs.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the GDPR by emailing info@volume48.co.uk

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

We will continue to hold information for as long as your relationship with Volume48 or our brands is deemed active, and thereafter we may keep any information relative to the relationship as dictated by regulatory, legal or operational requirements. In the case of our mail outs, we will immediately remove and delete your data from the system if you withdraw your consent by unsubscribing or contacting us at info@volume48.co.uk however you should note that if we also hold data relating to you through one of our other lawful bases for data processing (through our legitimate interests in operation, or through a contract or agreement) that we will continue to hold that data as required.
